Illuminating Devices Homologation

A wide evolution of technologies has involved also the illuminating devices (passing beam, driving beam, cornering lamps and front fog lamps). The introduction of gas-discharge light sources,  illuminating function with bending light (static or dynamic), adaptive front lighting systems AFS and the new LED head lamps represents some of these recently news.

The homologation of headlamps requires an evaluation of light and colour distribution, as well as a verification of stability in photometric behaviour (both with clean and dirty lamp), resistance to mechanical degradation, adherence of coatings and vertical shift of demarcation line. In case of valid protocols are not present for the lens plastic material used, we can offer also the complete flow of the required tests to obtain the homologation (resistance to radiations, to temperature variations, to atmospheric and chemical agents, to cleaning and hydrocarbons, to mechanical degradation, to adherence of coating, ...).

Regarding the homologation of AFS lamps the process is a little more complex. Further specific requirements have been submitted according to the introduction of new classes of passing beam lights (C: basis beam; V: beam for illuminating areas e.g. urban areas; E: beam for extra-urban ways or highways; W: beam in case of bad weather e.g. wet way).

FAKT is at your disposal to clarify any doubt and assist you during the whole homologation process, ensuring bigger saving of time and resources.
